Our Paint is FaintWe offer a pre-stage paint design on AFX track. Selective opinion may have it that the cosmetic advantages
of a thick coat of paint would rule the day. However from a more practical point of view, the thicker the paint the more the
car is lifted up, resulting in the loss of precious grams-per-square-inch of down pressure from the pick-up shoes against
the rails. I think you might be surprised at the performance loss, I was. I would like to offer
three tips on improving and maintaining a cars nudging-up-to-the-line-without-stalling abilities. 1. Keep your track rails clean around the staging area. The more humid the climate the faster oxidization forms on
the rails. Clean the rails with emery cloth. 2. Clean your pick-up shoes frequently.
3. Change your pick-up shoes before they wear through.
4. If a car is stalling excessively and its shoes are clean, change the shoes anyway. What has been known to happen
is: as a result of an impact a shoe can become out-of-round where it wraps around the brush housing, resulting in a diminished
surface area contact with the housing and, consequently, less juice to the motor. There
are three kinds of people in this world. Those who can count, and those who cannot. Cheers Daniel
